Each WDCD Live event is a bee hive of change makers from a multi-disciplinary backgrounds, where connections are made and a cross pollination of ideas take place.
For the 2022 festival, the design system was developed with the imagery of medieval heraldry as inspiration. With abstract and figurative shapes based on the concept of global warming, we created patterns visualising this century’s problems. The patterns were transformed into a flag that represents the idea of a unified design front, fighting the problems that the world faces today.
The design language has been translated to social media, an outdoor campaign and a stage design. A waving flag became the main motion in animation. The heraldic shapes have their own separate motion in the moving flag.
